Money is pretty low now as I celebrate (?) 6 weeks off work. Gonna just sit here all day playing Xbox.

I am worried about the prospect of starting new position on the 30th. Doesn't look like the best market to enter... especially if you're establishing a new department.

I’m still in the office due to my work being 100% in the lab space right now. 1 of 5 people in a building that usually holds 140. This building creaks a lot more than I thought it did.

My temporary home isolation office, it’s a good thing that it’s sunny outside, otherwise I’d completely lo se my mind. Spending 23-ish hrs a day (I try to go out at least an hour a day, as long as we are allowed ) alone in a 40 m2 studio appartement is not that fun.

Now I really need to get something like that for my garage. Also, setting up in the garage if I ever do get told to work from home isn’t a bad idea (we really don’t have an area that could be used as an office).

Considering there are only 4 people in my office and we all have our own offices we are not exactly working remotely at the moment. We are also moving, or supposed to be moving the office in 2 weeks.

Nice to see the Kia on display, curious to see the Focus lego build too, I kinda want that model now.

Incidentally, I'm in a similar position - (re)starting a new/old job on Monday, and have not had any communication from the company since last week. I guess we can assume if the job was canceled, they'd have to tell us, right?

Just my full time home office. Feels pretty normal except we’re working our asses off in risk management right now...and the kids are trying to kill each other. It feels like some kind of simulation.

Set up a temporary home office in my basement. The kids are scared to come down here and leave me alone. And there is no added distraction down here. Limited daylight sucks, though. My office has floor to ceiling windows and a lot of natural light. Now I am looking at a grey wall.

L ocal Winco is only letting 10 people in at a time, meanwhile we(a physically smaller  grocery store w/ 80 employees ) are not giving a damn. Hell almost none of us are wearing gloves besides me

They just put out a memo saying if you have kids or are over 65 they will consider not reprimanding you for staying home. Everyone else, SOL

Same with us, everyone in a non-public facing role is working from home, but the rest of us are business as usual. Other banks are doing drive-through only/scheduled a ppointments only inside, not us. My boss is frantically emailing everyone to check on upcoming vacation time (which he can already see himself) and to ask if anyone has gone home sick in the last 15 minutes (we already know to tell him if someone does).

I work in an office, I do not interact with the public, I do not need to physically do anything at my workplace, nor do I need to physically be near my coworkers to get my work done. At this point the company is just showing exactly how irresponsible and careless they are. Once things recover I think I’ll be job hunting (not that the grass is necessarily greener).

First stab:

The desk is one my father had in his room as a kid, and I did too. It’s followed me all the way to our current house, and it’s mostly a Lego building station. The rest of the room I’m in is all Lego. At least there’s nice natural light - and a view, if I move the desk a little (but today is cloudy) - and dedicated heat. It’s not glamorous but it’ll do. If I do some more cleaning I can make more space but for today I just wanted to get up and running.

The size of the in-bed pile of Puffalumps is directly proportional to how crappy I feel. There’s now a small stuffed Scion in the mix. Things are bad.

My car isn’t even back from the shop yet, and the city just announced a broader number of restrictions (can’t go to bars/restaurants, take-out only, no gatherings over 10 people, etc.).

Apparently hiring freezes are a thing on the media side, too. There’s no hope. There’s not much to do besides stare at cars I can’t afford to really fix. I just everything to be over, and there’s no chance of that now. I really just wish I didn’t exist anymore.

Not much of a photo, it’s kind of tight in here and I scooted back as far as I could.

Left monitor is an addition from work, they are letting us check out our desktop equipment to use from home since that’s been mandated. Since adding it, t hings are kind of in transition. I also just added the monitor risers, they’re VHS drawer storage I found at Goodwill.
